Sandwich Boards For Business Promotion And Brand AwarenessSandwich boards are an excellent way for attracting new customers when it comes to promoting the visibility and sales of a business or creating brand awareness, especially that of small businesses.

Let us read as to how these advertising mediums can prove useful for creating brand awareness and promoting products and services of a business.

One of the best things about sandwich boards (also known as Marquee sandwich boards, Sidewalk sandwich boards, Signicade sandwich boards, and Wind Sign sandwich boards) is that they do not require any special permits for placement and the message to be conveyed is possible of being changed, as and when a need for the same arises. If that is not all, these promotional boards are economical, durable, and time-tested for use in most outdoor conditions.

Moreover, a sandwich board could be an extremely useful and the best outdoor advertising option for businesses hidden in the depths of a shopping plaza or mall and having limited exposure to foot and road traffic. In short, the primary role of a sandwich board is to spread the advertising message of a business and bring new customers to it while helping the business retain the existing customers. However, you need to make sure that the sandwich board chosen by you displays the most attractive and relevant message in clear words as these factors could be the difference between a highly successful business and a less successful one.

All in all, sandwich boards can help small businesses drive more people to their location and ultimately selling the products to optimize returns on investments, which is the primary objective of any commercial venture.

Microsoft rolls out Office

Posted by admin | Web Marketing | Tuesday 5 July 2011 2:11 am

Microsoft Corp. made its biggest move into the mobile and Internet-accessible world of “cloud” computing on June 28, 2011.

The world’s largest software company took the wraps off a revamped online version of its hugely profitable Office software suite.

From in.finance.yahoo.com:

Microsoft rolls out OfficeThe world’s largest software company is heaving its two-decade old set of applications — including Outlook email, Excel spreadsheets and SharePoint collaboration tools — into an online format so that customers can use them on a variety of devices from wherever they can get an Internet connection.

It wants to push back against Google Inc, which has stolen a small but worrying percentage of corporate customers with cheaper, web-only alternatives, which remove the need for companies to spend time on installing software or managing servers.

“It puts Microsoft in a better position than they were — they now have a broad product that they can more easily sell,” said Michael Silver, an analyst at tech research firm Gartner.

Microsoft shares rose 0.8 percent on Tuesday, following a 3.7 percent jump the day before, partly buoyed by hopes that the company can ultimately boost profits by extending its software dominance to the growing cloud sector.

One test customer “expects to cut travel costs and reduce carbon emissions by 30 percent after they retire the 60 servers they think they will save,” said Chief Executive Steve Ballmer.

Madoff Trustee Suit Ruling For HSBC Expected In July

Posted by admin | Web Marketing | Tuesday 28 June 2011 4:36 am

HSBC Holdings PLC will have to wait until July end to find out if a U.S. judge allows the Madoff firm trustee to proceed with a $9 billion lawsuit accusing the bank of enabling the massive fraud.

The bank lawyers argued in Manhattan federal court that the law don’t allow trustee Irving Picard to bring the case of financial fraud and misconduct against HSBC.

From in.news.yahoo.com:

Madoff Trustee Suit Ruling For HSBC Expected In JulyIn all, the judge will be making decisions on challenges to five lawsuits filed by the trustee against banks amounting to nearly $100 billion.

Picard, the court-appointed trustee liquidating former financier Bernard Madoff’s firm after the collapse of his multibillion-dollar Ponzi scheme, last December accused HSBC of enabling the fraud. A Ponzi scheme is one in which old clients are paid with the money of new investors.

The trustee’s lawsuit, filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York, said the bank created, marketed and supported an international network of a dozen feeder funds based in Europe, the Caribbean, and Central America.

Madoff, 73, who was arrested in December 2008 and admitted orchestrating a decades-long fraud, is serving a 150 year-long prison term after pleading guilty to criminal charges in March 2009.

“I am going to spend a lot of time re-reading the papers,” U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff said at the end of oral arguments. “I will commit to a written decision by the end of July.”

Sony to launch its first tablet PCs

Posted by admin | Web Marketing | Saturday 18 June 2011 3:26 am

Sony to launch its first tablet PCsA laggard in the booming tablet market, Sony, has unveiled its first tablet computers in an ambitious attempt to grab second place in the market that is dominated by iPad of Apple.

Kunimasa Suzuki, deputy president of the consumer products and services group, told reporters in Tokyo on Tuesday that the new gadgets will use an operating system based on Android 3.0.

From in.finance.yahoo.com:

Suzuki raised eyebrows in January when he told reporters at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January that Sony was aiming for the No.2 spot in the tablet market behind Apple within a year, even though it had yet to put a product on the market.

The company has emphasised the need to differentiate its tablet from rivals, even if that takes time.

WSJ in its live blog says, the hall was filled with iPad users. So definitely Sony has an uphill task ahead of itself. In a market where every other technology major is launching a tablet, Sony has to come out with a new strategy to beat its rivals.

According to research firm Gartner, the sales of tablet devices are expected to quadruple to about 294 million units between 2011 and 2015, with almost half that made up by Android-based.

Brent oil set for worst month in a year

Posted by admin | Web Marketing | Monday 6 June 2011 12:01 am

Brent oil set for worst month in a yearBrent crude oil fell below $115 a barrel on Monday and headed for its first monthly decline this year, as investors weighed the prospect that the debt crisis of Europe and a sputtering U.S. economy may slow demand.

The trading volume was kept at less than 5 percent in daily norm due to public holidays in the United States and the UK on Monday.

From in.finance.yahoo.com:

Brent crude slipped 35 or 0.3 percent cents to $114.54 a barrel by 2022 GMT, having held above the first technical support level of $114. Prices are down 9 percent for the month of May, the biggest decline since May of last year.

U.S. crude dropped 21 cents to $100.38 in late trading. The New York Mercantile Exchange will not issue a settlement price on Monday, with all trading registered for May 31.

Trading volume is very thin with the UK and U.S. markets not in. The only factor that I can see is a slightly firmer U.S. dollar, which may put pressure on prices,” said Carsten Fritsch, analyst at Commerzbank.

Chairman of euro zone finance ministers, Jean-Claude Juncker, expressed optimism over further aid to Athens after meeting with French President Nicolas Sarkozy in Paris as the European Union raced to draft a second bailout package for Greece to avert the risk of a defult.

The euro eased on Monday while the dollar stabilized following a slide late last week.

Touch-screen Nook launched

Posted by admin | Web Marketing | Wednesday 25 May 2011 12:04 am

Touch-screen Nook launchedThe lighter, slimmer, cheaper new version of Barnes & Noble’s e-reader, Nook, would be making an appearance before customers as a simple eBook reader.

Price tag of the latest Nook – $139 – is a sign that the book seller is striving to compete with Amazon and Borders Group Inc. on e-reader prices.

From news.yahoo.com:

The focus on simplicity means the new Nook’s battery can last 2 months, CEO William Lynch said at an event in New York to announce the device. Lynch told the crowd of bloggers, news media and analysts the latest Nook was inspired by feedback from customers — specifically a letter asking why no e-readers were suitable for a grandma.

“The Kindle 3 has 38 buttons. That’s 37 more than the all-new Nook,” said Lynch, taking a jab at Amazon.com’s e-reader, the market’s top seller.

The new Nook, to be available June 10, is Wi-Fi only, has a 6-inch touch screen and can hold up to 1,000 digital books. It features the latest E Ink technology, which significantly minimizes flashing that can occur as a user pages through an e-book. Pages seem to melt into each other on the new Nook.

The latest Nook allows readers to look up words, highlight passages, search, and adjust font size.
