Despite the economic crunch getting the better of firms in the recent past, things are changing and this is very much evident from the fact that as many as 28 American companies in the Fortune 100 list including retail giant Wal-Mart, Time Warner, and Coca-Cola are still hiring.
The Fortune magazine stated that 28 Fortune 100 employers have at least 150 openings as of mid-April and this is at a time when many big companies are announcing mass layoffs.
Media group Time Warner has about 480 openings posted online in creative, editorial, marketing, media, finance, accounting, graphics design, animation, new media, ad sales, film/television production division among others. Technology giant Hewlett-Packard has 150 vacancies and is hiring in several areas of its businesses such as information technology, human resources, research and development, marketing, finance and administrative. While, beverage company Coca-Cola is searching for 160 people for a variety of different functions on many levels including finance, bottling, retail operations, production and customer service, delivery and food chemistry.
It is worth noting here that the Arkansas-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc, which is presently ranked second in latest list of Fortune 500, has thousands of job openings.

The latest technological creation for game systems, Kinect, was unveiled by Microsoft. This creation will help users direct the Xbox with their body movements.
Kinect is able to identify movements and voices of players and help them interact with their existing Xbox 360s; some games can be played using Kinect without even requiring a handheld controller.
“You are the controller,” ABC News quoted Mike Delman, corporate vice president of Global Marketing for the Interactive Entertainment Business, as saying.
He added: “You simply step in front of the sensor and Kinect sees you move, hears your voice and recognizes your face.”
Facial and voice recognition in the Kinect will allow users to log into their Xbox LIVE accounts without pressing a button, and interacting with the system’s interface is just a hand’s wave away.
It was announced by Microsoft that Kinect would be available Nov. 4, with 15 launch titles.
Communication for the benefit of your business is quite an important part of the marketingof your company. There is always a need of a group of people in a company to deal with the communication aspects. The group needs to be well efficient in language and skillful to build an effective conversational business deal. The communication is not only important between the customer and seller but also among the employers of the company.
Gilbert Amelio believes that “Developing excellent communicationskills is absolutely essential to effective leadership. The leader must be able to share knowledge and ideas to transmit a sense of urgency and enthusiasm to others. If a leader can’t get a message across clearly and motivate others to act on it, then having a message doesn’t even matter.”
Steve Burnett says, “Regardless of the changes in technology, the market for well-crafted messages will always have an audience.”
Jim Rohn feels “Effective communication is 20% what you know and 80% how you feel about what you know.”
Also Anthony robbins quotes “Skill in the art of communication is crucial to a leader’s success. He can accomplish nothing unless he can communicate effectively.”
Such beautiful quotes are inspiring to gather the need for effective communication in the company which includes internal as well as external communication.

America’s largest music retailer is reportedly under scrutiny from the Justice Department over its marketing tactics for its iTunes music store.
Apple is the biggest player in American music sales, responsible for about 70 percent of online music sold in this country. It’s how it got there that has federal investigators asking questions of its competitors.
The New York Times and CNet, which is owned by CBS, are reporting that antitrust investigators are asking questions about Apple’s alleged refusal to let rival Amazon.com offer exclusive access to some tracks a day before their wide release. A report from Billboard Magazine earlier this spring suggested the Apple would respond by not promoting those tracks on iTunes.
Investigations by the Justice Department are said to be in their early phases.

“O, Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; To be understood as to understand; To be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; And it is in dying to ourselves that we are born to eternal life. Amen” – Saint Augustine

They are curiosity, confidence, courage, and constancy, and the greatest of all is confidence. When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable. – Walt Disney
